My work is unique, personal, and doesn’t involve computer/AI manipulation beyond basic color correction for reprint purposes. I rely on my art school training and classical instruction while using my intuitive sense of style and color to guide my designs. Call me old school: it’s a great compliment in today’s impersonal tech-heavy world.

Interpreting your vision

I enjoy the collaboration involved in designing personal pieces of art that incorporate the elements, composition, color, and size you envision, while keeping your budget in mind. I can provide as much or as little artistic direction as you like.

Birds in your ‘hood

Do you have daily visitors to your yard or neighborhood that you’d like to immortalize in a painting? A cheeky phoebe hunting for insects in your garden, a happy bluebird perched on a nearby branch, a tiny, brilliant hummingbird buzzing around your feeder, a stately flicker whose piercing call announces the onset of winter.

Sketches along the way

I’m happy to deliver progress reports in the way of sketches and layouts that provide a good idea of what to expect with your finished piece. Or if you’d prefer to be surprised, that’s fine too.

Mythology on your mind?

Why stop at creatures in today’s natural world? I’d welcome the challenge of recreating an extinct or mythological being floating around in your imagination. My phoenix is a great example.
